bob krist
Join National Geographic photographer/filmmaker, and Boothbay Harbor resident Bob Krist, for an evening of his short documentary films about life along coastal Maine. The event is a fundraiser for the Boothbay Harbor Historical Society.
Using the eye and storytelling techniques he developed during a 40 year career working for National Geographic, Krist shows us the people, places and traditions that make Maine such a special place.
Joining Bob will be his friend, renowned DownEast photographer Ben Williamson, who is the subject of one of these short films. Ben and Bob will be offering prints and books after the show as part of the fundraiser for the Historical Society as well as taking audience questions on all things Maine and photography related.
This eclectic collection of short films was commissioned by The Great Courses and is currently part of their online offerings in a program called Off the Beaten Path—this will be the only theatrical showing of these films.
So even if you think you know your own backyard like the back of your hand, we guarantee you’ll come away with a new appreciation, and a couple of new facts, about this beautiful place we call home!
